The first apparition at Fatima, told through the words exchanged between the Lady and Lucia, from De Marchi’s The True Story of Fatima and Lucia’s Memoirs.

May 13, 1917. Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta mind their flock.

A beautiful Lady appears on the holm oak…

“Fear not. I will not harm you.” (the Lady)
“Where are You from?” (Lucia)
“I am from Heaven.”
“What do You want of me?”
“I have come to ask you to come here for six months in succession, on the 13th day, at this same hour. Later on, I will tell you who I am and what I want.”
“Shall I go to Heaven too?”
“Yes, you will.”
“And Jacinta?”
“She will go also.”
“And Francisco?”
“He will go there too, but he must say many Rosaries.”

Lucia asked about two girls from the village who had recently died.

“Is Maria das Neves in Heaven?”
“Yes, she is.”
“And Amelia?”
“She will be in Purgatory until the end of the world.”
“Are you willing to offer yourselves to God, to bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?”
“Yes, we are willing.”
“Then you are going to have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.”
“Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of the war.”

This way, those interested can ‘hear’ Fatima. How they interpret the words is up to them.

On this All Souls’ Day, say a prayer for the souls in Purgatory.

I Wanna Tell You a Story

In 1917 Our Lady opens a dialogue with Lucia about the salvation of souls; in 1958 the Church closes it. Michael will inform. It’s your job to interpret.
